1. Planet A
Director: Momoko Seto, Music: Yann Leguay
F 2008, 8 min, Beta SP, colour, without dialogue
Surreal view into a macro cosmos: "Planet A" shows ordinary things like rootstocks and rhizome-like fungus
making them look like a world on a different planet. The pictures are effectively accompanied with an electronic
score.
2. Herr Bar
Director: Clemens Kogler
A 2007, 3:10 min, Beta SP, colour, without dialogue
Hand wheels, finger cacti or biomass as building materials. The surreal realms through which we are travelling
consist of photographs of human body parts.
3. Silicium - Schaltkreis 5
Director: Hanna Nordholt/Fritz Steingrobe, Music: Suzuki Gruppe
D 2007, 6:30 min, Beta SP, colour, ES
Silicium chips contain the same elements as any pebble on the road side. Any calculation image or sound
derived from them is a numeric from reality. We witness the genesis of a digital composition.
4. Orgesticulanismus
Director: Mathieu Labaye, Music: Fabian Fiorini/Mathieu Labaye
B 2008, 9:30 min, Mini-DV, colour, ES
Mathieu Labaye pays hommage to his father Benoît, a multiple sclerosis sufferer from the age of
29. An eruptive mix of rhythms, movement and colour.
5. Dot - The Book as a video
Director: Jörg Petri, Music: Michael Fakesch
D 2008, 4:30 min, Mini-DV, colour
"Dot: The book as a video" is a music-video for the song "dos" by Michael Fakesch. It shows a
sequence of digitally reproduced letterpress prints.
6. Seemannstreue
Director: Anna Kalus, Music: Florian Studios
D 2008, 11 min, 35 mm, colour, without dialogue
Anna Kalus' movie makes the viewer fall silent: with its beautiful pictures the animated film does not
require words itself. It tells a crazy love story.
7. Jetzt geht's doch
Director: Eva Schröder, Music: Wolfgang in der Wiesche
D 2008, 35 mm, 19 min, colour, without dialogue
A man walks through an empty house searching for the exit that does not seem to exist. The inventive music
gives the events a very special meaning.
8. The Spot
Director: Alexandre O. Philippe, Music: Jon Hegel, Sound design: Phillip Lloyd Hegel
USA 2008, 17 min, HD, colour, OV
45 years later, the spot where John F. Kennedy was killed in 1963 seems frozen in time. The sound design
helps create the film's dense atmosphere.
9. Decibels Remix
Director: Andrea Manenti, Music: Decibel/Anndrea Manenti
I 2008, 1:08 min, Mini-DV, colour & bw, without dialogue
A girl in a school uniform, a bass guitar, an amplifier, and countless balloons. A simple but effective
sound collage with a punk attitude
10. Allein (Tanhaai)
Director: Mehrdad Sheikhan, Music: Hossein Alizadeh, Sound design: Behrooz Shahamat
IR 2008, 10 min, 35 mm, colour, without dialogue
A giant made of stone tries to break out of his solitude but fails. He comes to realise that the
monotony around him is more extensive than expected.
11. Pianoforte
Director: Christoph Girardet
D 2007, 6 min, Beta SP, colour, without dialogue
Videoinstallation "Pianoforte" combines 88 piano scenes from films corresponding to 88 keys
of a piano. From a newly constructed sequence of these scenes emerges a fresh sound composition.
