Every shot of the slapstick movie "A film Johnnie" (USA 1914) is arranged in a periodical rhythm. Every scene is accompanied by a particular tone sequence. Picture and sound are completely in synchronicity.

It’s a cold world. And somewhere in a big town there are a bunch of individuals. Their heads are replaced by red balloons and they all live their standardized life. A dark sound collage with colorful, but depressing pictures.

A man in the ruins of a abandoned Berlin railway station. Becoming part of the building he succumbs to memories and visions. Tense sound and detailed images harmonize – enlivening this sad environment.

In "Samsa" we find another homage to Franz Kafka's "The Metamorphosis". Its Kafkaesque pictures show a single protagonist in an animated world. In its strict formality it is not only a close observation but also intellectually inspiring.
