Kinema - German-french youth award

"Little Paris" by Miriam Dehne

Young people like to go to the cinema and talk about it. This everyday interest is taken up by the German-French youth prize "Kinema", which the 22nd Braunschweig International Film Festival is awarding for the 2nd time. Together with the Lower Saxony school cinema project Kinema , the German-French Youth Association and TV5MONDE the filmfest has developed a concept which enables young people from both countries to participate in an international festival.

A jury of five young French and Germans between 17 and 22 will select an award-winner from six debut films. The five jurors, three from Lower Saxony and two from Haute-Normandie, will be prepared for their work by film expert Anne Huet and helped by last year’s winner, director Felix Randau.

The following films will be shown: "Little Paris" und "About breathing under water" from Germany, "Thousand Oceans" from Switzerland, "La vie d'Artiste" and "Les Grandes Personnes" (France) and "Eldorado" (Belgium).
