Exhibition Thomas Bartels + Eva Schröder

Parallel to the filmfest and up to the end of November, the Braunschweig artist, Eva Schröder, will be showing paintings, graphic arts and above all a series of 14 so-called Rollkammern ("rolling rooms") in the old Braunschweig Jakob Kemenate. The Rollkammern, three-dimensional objects on wheels, are part of a multi-media project which also includes an animation film.

For more than a year Eva Schröder has been working together with filmmaker Thomas Bartels in her studio on the Rollkammern project. The wooden constructions and figures are all carefully carved, glued and painted, and the film is made with traditional animation technology, frame by frame. The musician, Wolfgang in der Wiesche, has also created a soundtrack with special sounds and music fragments. The film will be shown after the filmfest at the end of the exhibition in November.
