Dr Joachim Block read physics at the TU Braunschweig from 1974-1981. In 1988 he completed his doctoral studies at the University of Kassel. He has been
working at the DLR since 1981, where he has been responsible for a number of projects on aerospace structures, including projects related to ESA’s ROSETTA
mission. Since 2004 he has been the leader of a large project group at the Institute for Composite Structures and Adaptronic. He also teaches at the Institute
for Geophysics and Extraterrestrial Physics at the TU Braunschweig.

Braunschweig; since 2001 deputy head of the area "Material Analysis and Indoor Air Chemistry". Scientific focus: the investigation of product emissions
and smells, the release of volatile substances from materials as well as the measuring of ultra fine dust.
