Films from Haute-Normandie

Since 2002 the Braunschweig International Film Festival and the Northern French film foundation Pôle Image have been organising a film cultural exchange between the two partner regions of Lower Saxony and Haute-Normandie. Together with Pôle Image and Nordmedia, the Festival chooses films to be shown in March at the festival du Cinéma Nordique in Rouen, and in turn offers artists from Haute-Normandie a forum in November.

In 2007, the filmfest was represented at Rouen with "Expresso", "Kristall" and "Vergiss sie", and Pôle Image will present two films in Braunschweig: "Avril" by Gérald Hustache-Mathieu, and "X-Makina", a short animated film by Nicolas Diologent.

The Festival also welcomes a group of German and French teachers participating in the pedagogical exchange "Kinema", including teachers from the Hoffmann-von-Fallersleben-Gymnasium in Braunschweig.

The Kinema youth prize will be awarded for the first time.
