Short film Music award "The Leo"

Design by Ina Gereke

The 20th Film Festival will present the short-film music award, the LEO, for the fourth time this year, granted by a four-member jury. The LEO is an award which merits the combination of film and music, or of film and sound. The main concern of the judges is not the images or sound individually, but the combination of these two elements into a convincing composition. The LEO does not target music videos, although some are in the running, but rather aims at films which are striking due to their original, individual and innovative mixture of picture and music or sound in general. This year’s 25 LEO entries come from 8 different countries, are no older than 18 months and represent every conceivable genre: from animation to experimental film; from short features to peaceful documentaries.

The award fund of 2,000 EUR is donated by the foundation Braunschweiger Land and is to be divided equally between the director and the composer.
