EFA SHORT FILM NOMINEES - PRIX UIP WINNERS ON TOUR

We, November 9 10:15 pm Universum 2 Guest: Daniel Elliott
Su, November 13 5:45 pm CinemaxX 2

The short film is a genre allowing creative experiments and provocation, inviting playful use of stylistic elements - and often offering a first stepping stone in a young filmmaker's career. Both the European Film Academy (EFA) and the European Coordination of Film Festivals (ECFF) are supporting the short film as a genre through which a new generation of filmmakers develops and finds its way into the future of European cinema.

The Prix UIP is an initiative by the distributor United International Pictures (UIP) and the European Film Academy in co-operation with twelve festivals throughout Europe. At each of these film festivals, EFA and UIP present a Prix UIP which includes a donation of 2,000 Euro and an automatic nomination in the short film category of the European Film Awards. Out of the twelve nominated films, the EFA members (currently 1,600 European film professionals) select the winner of the European Film Academy Short Film - Prix UIP, an award which is endowed with 10,000 Euro.

Bringing their efforts together, ECFF and EFA/UIP present "European Film Academy Short Film Nominees - Prix UIP Winners on Tour". This programme features some of the films nominated for the European Film Academy Short Film Award 2004 - Prix UIP.
