EUROPEAN ROUND TABLE "MUSIC AND FILM"

How can festivals support young film makers and composers?

Th, November 10 10:00 am - 2:30 pm Aula of the TU Braunschweig

Whoever wants to get into the field of scores needs a lot of staying power. The access to this business is hard-fought, the proposals are rare and the employers like to fall back on prominent names. And he who has his foot in the door, is not in the business for a long time yet. Producers and directors primarily attach importance to the pictures, whereas the music plays a minor role. This leads to a rather late involvement of the composer in the production process with foreseeable consequences regarding the teamwork.

With the support of the European Coordination of Film Festivals ECFF, the city of Braunschweig and nordmedia, the film promoter for the provinces of Lower Saxony and Bremen, the filmfest organises a roundtable to discuss the question "How can festivals help young directors and composers?" Under the direction of Peter Kiefer the members will debate how festivals devoted to music and film can contribute to an improved collaboration of young composers and directors.
