SPECIAL FILMS FROM AUSTRIA - COOP 99
One of the most important representatives of present Austrian Cinema is the
author and production association "coop 99" with the four members Barbara
Albert, Jessica Hausner, Antonin Svoboda and Martin Gschlacht. "coop 99 is the
platform for a new generation of film makers in Austria. Our films stand for
authenticity, personal attitude and individuality" is how they describe
themselves - very ambitious and dedicated to author cinema!
Barbara Albert's "Nordrand" (1999) and Jessica Hausner's "Lovely Rita" (2001)
won a number of international prizes. While Svoboda and Gschlacht are working
at the moment on their first full-length film, the new productions "Kaltfront" by
Valentin Hitz and "Böse Zellen" by Barbara Albert are being played at
numerous festivals. Albert, Hitz and Svoboda will be present to talk about
their work and ambitions.

The summer of 1978, the legendary year when the Austrian national football team
had one of their best tournaments in Argentina. Tondo, nine years old, is
